UHDDS Activities

Search the internet for links concerning UHDDS, and POA Indicators.   You can use these resources to help you with the HITNOTS quizzes on these subjects.  There is also excellent information concerning these topics in many readily available textbooks.

Once you are knowledgeable about the subjects, complete the following activities:

  • describe the historical background of UHDDS and its development
  • identify the data elements of UHDDS
  • abstract the UHDDS elements from  specified acute care medical records
  • create a spreadsheet in EXCEL®  containing the UHDDS data you abstracted.  Include all the necessary elements of a good spreadsheet, including:
  1.     title
  2.     source of data

UHDDS Quiz
